Currently, circular economy (CE) is gaining attention in Europe and around the world as a potential way for our society to increase prosperity and sustainability by reducing the dependence on primary materials and energy. In this transition towards CE, numerous research projects and activities have and are being developed at distinct levels of society and design has a crucial role, however, there are still several limitations and barriers in its implementation. To implement the model, designers, product developers and companies need to be

The performance of Three-Dimensional Material Models developed according to similarity rules is already known and supported by considerable research, and in our view their role in the effectiveness of the design project, by allowing the validation and testing in similarity of multiple dimensions of design systems, is central. We verify however, several design paths, certain options and design decisions, impossible to sustain in the same similarity rules, according to the notions and specifications established in other sciences that use them. We know from experience and from evidence that similarity is a transversal factor to Project and therefore, also to Design. We are convinced that we build Tridimensional Material Models to test Design in similarity! Thus, given the evident application of the notion of similarity in Design, and the evident non-conformity of its application with the established similarity rules, we justify the existence and use of Design's own Similarity Rules and according to which, we build in a Network of Similarities the Three-dimensional Material Models to the Similarity with which we physically test the dimensions of the Design Systems we design. This new approach to Network action for the testing of Design Systems according to the Design Similarity Rules guides and focuses our research, so that through the articulation of Similarity Descriptors they can with simplicity and rigor be applied in the project, thus contributing to the effective resolution of Design problems. In the course of this research and as its immediate result, the contents of the Curricular Units that I teach and of which I am regent were significantly altered, making available to the students an updated theoretical base with a high level of abstraction, which will naturally allow them a unique research base and directions with high potential of application, in its desirable relationship with the business fabric. Leveraged on this general theory, it has been possible to effectively test multiple dimensions of design, by building more effective models and prototypes, as well as products according to ceramic technology, with a high degree of efficiency at the production level, therefore amplifying the effectiveness of the project.
